Brynjulf Haugman is a Norwegian writer. I met him recently at the Winchester Writer’s Festival. He is currently working on a metaphysical romance novel based on the Viking sagas called Wind in the Blood. He collaborates with American, Bryan Talgo, author of The Beauregarde Affair.

Why do you write?
To get the stories out of my head and share them with others.
Do you have a specific writing style?
Very character driven.
What books have influenced you the most?
Sam Barone, Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden, Gavin menzies, Jean M. Auel books are what come to my mind first.
What are you reading right now?
The Gospel of Loki by Joanne Harris
What’s your current project about?
The Viking Within , a mainstream metaphysical romance, complete at 100,000 words. Evoking the tone of the Viking sagas, our story features love lost spanning past lives. Locations alternate between modern Oslo and medieval Greenland.

What’s the hardest part of writing?
Finding the time to do it.
Do you have any advice for new writers?
Find someone to write with, but not necessarily together. But that too can be a great inspiration.
